My girl is 7 years old and just started dance maybe 2 months ago. She has expressed her want to do comp, but our studio requires an audition. I don't think she's ready at this point, as she is not very flexible right now and can barely retain choreo. She is currently doing 11-12 hours of dance per week. CORRECTION!!! Calculated wrong, it's 6.75 hours!!! I was thinking of some of the other student's hours! The studio is pretty intense and a lot of young kids are actually at those hours, which is insane.
How long did it take for your child to be ready for comp? What was their journey like? Would love to hear their stories!
