I’m a Business Analyst at Accenture Federal Services and recently had a choice between two roles:
A more stable, client-facing project that seemed relatively low-pressure
An internal AFS project focused on a Voice AI initiative (more interesting, but currently scoped only through ~August with possible extensions)
I ended up choosing the internal project for the learning opportunity and exposure, but now I’m thinking through the tradeoffs.
From what I understand, I’ll get notice before roll-off and will need to find my next role afterward like usual.
For those who’ve been in AFS or similar consulting environments:
How do internal projects like this typically play out?
Do they usually lead to extensions or help with better opportunities afterward?
Anything I should be doing early on to position myself well for what comes next?
Would appreciate any real experiences or advice.
