One thing I’ve noticed as my disease has been progressing is that I’m still not on biologics yet because my labs are unstable and we’re trying to get them back to normal. Most of the time, I get this electrifying sensation in my right arm, starting from my shoulder all the way down to my fingertips.
Sometimes it gets almost paralyzing, like a nerve is being pinched just under my skin. It’s not just a light tingling feeling, it’s sharp, intense, and almost like an electric shock that can stop me in my tracks and goes on for minutes at a time. Recently, I’ve started feeling the same thing in both of my legs as well, which is new for me.
I’m currently tapering prednisone, and I noticed that this feeling only came back during my second week at 10 mg. At higher doses, it wasn’t really there or at least much less noticeable.
I’m wondering if this is something others experience too, this kind of “pinched nerve” or electric sensation, especially during a flare or while tapering medication.
