Lighting warehouse or showroom in Twin Cities
I need to upgrade and increase the number of recessed can lights throughout my home. I really dislike the quality of light that the retrofit plug-in LED downlights produce. They feel depressing and “muddy” to me. I’m looking for a warmer, clearer light, kind of like what reflector bulbs produce. The reflector bulbs I have tried though create a pretty focused light, and I’m looking for something that will diffuse the light more widely across the room.
Anyway, I live in a tiny place in the middle of nowhere (nearest big box stores are two hours away), but will be visiting the Twin Cities in a few days. I was wondering if there are any physical locations where I can look at different downlights and bulbs to experience the quality of light they produce. So I’m not looking for a showroom that only sells lighting fixtures and lamps, but maybe more of a specialized warehouse-type place? I just don’t want to waste my time and money buying a bunch of different lights and bulbs online that may or may not be what I’m looking for if I can try them out in person instead. Anyway, any suggestions gratefully appreciated!
