I’m about 5–6 months post-op from mechanical aortic valve replacement and aortic repair. I’m on warfarin and atenolol.
A couple of nights ago I did an easy walk + light garage workout around 2 pm. After the workout my HR and BP looked good and I felt okay. Later that night, around 9–11 pm, I started getting frequent “double/triple beat” sensations/palpitations.
I called the nurse line and was advised to go to ED. They did an ECG, blood tests, and monitored me for about 4 hours. The ECG showed junctional ectopic beats. The doctors weren’t concerned and said it was palpitations/ectopic beats.
Just curious if others after valve/aortic surgery have had similar ectopic beats that felt like double/triple beats, especially hours after exercise.
Did they settle over time? Did your cardiologist suggest Holter monitoring, medication adjustment, electrolytes, or just reassurance?
