Hey guys quick question. I am currently a supervisor Security guard in a data center and I make 25 an hour

but the responsibility and stress I get it’s definitely not worth the money. One of my goal is to make over 65-80k within this industry and I don’t know much outside of security other than in data center cuz that’s all where have worked. My question is what industry related to security pays around or over 65-80k?
Would really much appreciate your responses!!

I am currently working as a security guard through a contractor company, stationed at a data center.

I managed to speak to the manager face to face and told him I wanted to become a technician. He conducted an assessment on me along with a tech lead; however, I was rejected due to having no experience other than building and selling PCs. I later spoke to one of the techs, and he told me they will never hire someone without prior experience, no matter what.

I am currently studying for my CompTIA certification while working my security job, and I am looking for part-time weekend work to build some hands-on experience in the field before trying again.

My question is: is it possible to become a technician with little to no prior experience, or do you need a background in computer science or an IT-related degree?
