AHS Temp full time line & maintaining part time line?

Hi all

Sorry for the tricky situation here, It may sound like a stupid question but I wouldn’t ask if I hadn’t read what I can on IRCC and other forums!

TLDR: Taking a LOA from permanent 0.72 AHS line and undertaking a temporary 1.00 AHS line, will it improve or negatively affect PR eligibility?

My wife works with the AHS as an HCA. She wants to transfer to a hospital much closer to where we live, on a temporary full time (1.00) line, and will maintain her permanent part time line (0.72) at her original hospital. That is, she will be given leave of absence and allowed to return when the temp line ends.

There are many personal circumstances that make the temp line a great option, although she wants to keep the original line as the original hospital is in a location we will be moving to next year.

Will taking on the temp line invalidate her attempts to be eligible for PR (any realistic stream, whether it is PNP or EE)? My thoughts are that she is technically still employed (has been for over 2 years in the same role at the same hospital). The issue at the moment is that her line isn’t full time, she has asked for a better line and was rejected. She works easily 40hrs a week through overtime and other shifts. But IRCC states that she needs a contract that states ‘full time’. Will the temp line be enough to make her eligible, or will they see that it says ‘temporary’?

Such a tough gamble and I am looking for people who have experienced this situation, even if it wasn’t PR related. I am interested to know if your contract stated a temporary change in role/location or if it was a new concurrent contract whilst your old one was on a LOA.

Thanks for any help that can be provided!
