On the HD trucks I wanted to push this out there that the part can be replaced without any programming needed. My dealer shop was incorrect.
The only caveat I have is I'm wondering if it will need some type of recalibration, but so far the answer is no based on my driving.
Here is what worked and the circumstances:
2020 3500HD 6.6 gas
GM genuine part #13565641
disconnect ground prior to replacing. Once replaced, reconnect battery and truck starts fine, no codes.
A 1500 truck with AFM, this may require a techii/bidirectional scanner to complete.
A 2500/3500 6.6 diesel, I am also wondering if this requires programming. Im assuming that these trucks use the same part as gas so probably not.
