Hi everyone, I am testing methylmercury in water samples using EPA 1630 method. So I have encountered problem with ethylization of my distilled samples. Only my distilled samples would have no peak but my prepared standards and QCs are all okay. So I think my NaBet4 reagent is ok.

I know this method is pH sensitive and I always measure it before and after addition of acetate buffer and it falls within the recommended pH.

Do you guys have similar experience? What did you do?
