Cutting Off A Family Member
Is it better or worse to go no contact with an addict family member?
My nephew(26) is in denial about his drug use even when he tested positive for drugs. He said his kratom must have somehow got laced with fent. Bullshit, right?? He is in jail and still lying. He has no real plans when he gets out and constantly gives us (mom, gma) lip service about his life goals. And of course, he knows EVERYTHING, so he refuses to listen to any advice. I am over it! He's been doing this for years, but it has gotten really bad. I am thinking of going no contact until he gets his life together. His mom and grandma will continue to support him. Not financially, but encouraging support. I don't mind that they do,a mother's love is no end, but he stresses me out and pisses me off to no end. Does it make it worse for the addict when family go no contact, or do you think he might start to wake up when people go no contact? TIA
