I know its only been a few days and it's still new but I'm curious. I've seen mixed comments where people really like it and say that it reminds them of 5.1, and some people say that it's worse than 5.4.
Personally, I really wanted to like it. At first, I was pleasantly surprised. It also reminded me of 5.1 so I was jumping for joy. But the more I used it, the worse it got...? Idk if I just started noticing what was already there, but the stories I ask it to generate are just not it anymore. Specially, character dialogue. Oh my lord it is so bad, so much worse than 5.4. Not only is it so clipped, unnatural, and sparse, it's just completely out of character even after inputting a thorough character description of the characters.
I'm hoping that the more I use it, the more the model will learn to adjust to my preferences. I actually got to a pretty good place with 5.4 before 5.5 came out and it pains me to have to do it all over again. I tried just going back to 5.4, but seems to have deteriorated or smth cuz it's also just not understanding the assignment. I also thought of moving to Claude, but I've heard that the new models also haven't been doing well for writing anymore (and don't even get me started on the usage limits ૮(˶ㅠ︿ㅠ)ა )
What are your experiences? Any advice on how to get it to write better? Or have you discovered other AI's that just write better?
