No hate to the artist, I just stumbled upon his art on youtube and he's obviously talented but these stupid hairflaps he draws on this specific character of his grind my gears.
I hate looking at them, they look so stupid, it makes his already over the top hair look like a silly helmet he's wearing.
It's something I've noticed quite a few artist doing to their OCs, usually they draw these hairflaps on the cheek to cover up the ears of the OC because they're bad at drawing ears but this guy can and has proven to be able to draw ears, he added these stupid cheek-pubes for no reason.
It makes the character lose so much aura it's actually insane how grand my distaste for these hair thingies is.

Please Mr. Artist of this work, get rid of the hairflaps, I know you can draw...that should make it that much easier to just erase those goofy ass rabbit ears dangling of that dude's skull.

I hate looking at them and I'm sure many of your viewers secretly clench their fists whenever they see your OC do shananigans with those integrated follicular cheek-covers.

It was my second cycle in the city of Garui, the southern province.

Upon my arrival, I noticed the differences in architecture and clothing in Garui compared to what the kholvat in Uqnui wore and resided in.

Lifinu, my guide from Uqnui, explained that the southern region was only recently conquered by the Empire of Uqnui circa 125 years ago. Garui used to be its own Kingdom with its own culture and faith but they came to adopt a lot of the customs of the ruling Elite in Uqnui.

What made the southern region so valuable to Uqnui was its access to the Ruopo plant which only grew near the Great Lake. It is the spores these plants expulse from their holes which are the most sought after good.

They collect and slowly heat the spores in order to "activate" them, they call the finished, powdery product "Shokhi" and it is Garui's biggest Export.

After having visited their Ruopo farms, I was invited by one of the landowners to the "Wafanlil" of her daughter, an intimate celebration where Kholvat come together to whitness the 3rd of 3 sheddings their youngling undergo after which they're considered adults.

They usually take place in temples where the youngling lays down on the altar for friends and family to observe their shedding and welcome them into the life and responsabilities of adults once they're finished.

The kholvat struggled to focus on the shedding and instead stared at me, some pointed fingers at me and shouted "Messenger! Messenger within Temple!"

I tried to ignore and continue to observe.

Having met the Empress, I was offered to stay at the imperial guest house in the city center. There I was supplied with all luxuries most Kholvat could only dream of.

Servants, games and endless supplies of fresh produce which I couldnt consume. After staying there for 2 cycles, a kholva named Lifinu introduced herself to me as the imperial navigator and one of the Empress' closest advisors.

She told me it was the Empress' wish to show me one of their most valuable and beautiful provinces located on the south near one of the great lakes.

I was excited at the offer and gladly accepted. I was to travel to and visit the capital of the southern province called "Garui".

Lifinu explained to me that we'll travel by avian means, riding a large being which they refer to as "Fushu". Flying a Fushu is a great honor according to Lifinu as they're close to the sun and hard to take care of.

They're usually reserved for diplomatic reasons or to transport valuable artifacts.

I climbed on the Fushu before Lifinu took off and flought us south towards Garui, though with frequent breaks as the Fushu wasn't used to transporting heavy humans.

After 5 cycles of travel and rests in the desert, we finally arrived at Garui. I knew we were close to the great lake because the air started to feel cooler and more moist.

The landscape was getting greener and at the coast of the great lake, I noticed tiny burrows and building poking out of the hills similar to those of Uqnui.

"We arrived", Lifinu said.

After being kicked out of the Temple by the priests for having taken fotos of their scripture, news about the skybeing walking the city became widespread in Uqnui.

I tried to hide for a few days but imperial guards eventually caught me and took me, saying they'd take me to the Empress.

The prospect of meeting the Empress of Uqnui was both scary and exciting. After walking across the city, we eventually arrived at the rock formation that formed the Imperial Palace. It seemed to have a religious status as well, I saw many Kholvat of lower status praying infront of the gate.

The guards opened the gate and tossed me in before closing it to ward off pilgrims eager to enter the Palace. There I saw one of the Empress' Concubines.

He introduced himself, Khatani his name was and he told me that he was tasked by the Empress to escort me through the her Palace as she wanted to see the Skybeing. I complied.

After walking through countless rock corridors, Khatani slid open one of the wooden doors and there she was, the Empress of Uqnui.

He made a gesture telling me to bow my head, I did.

"You are the skybeing", the Empress said.

"Yes I am", I responded.

"Are you a messenger of the sun?"

"No I am not"

"Tell me your nature", she said.

"I come from a world among the stars similar to yours, with cities, farming and arts. I wish to visit your world and to learn about your people"

The Empress sat there and stared at me for a minute. I still couldnt decipher the emotions of Kholvat with their bug-like faces.

"Messenger, we welcome you to our realm. In the name of our Mother Akhanaqi (the sun deity?), you shall receive support from the imperial household in your quest. We bless you."

"Great sun daughter", the surrounding guards added.

I thanked here before being picked up by Khatani again.

The more time I spent among the kholvat, the more I got to understand their ways.

I could now understand and hold simple conversations with them in their local language. One of them invited me to his home burrow to show his office, he was an artisan and spent his days making pottery.

The society was built on castes which generally consisted of artisans, farmers, warriors and clerics/ the empress at the top.

The clerical class was deeply intertwined with the empress' palace and the noblepeople serving her.

I had the pleasure of meeting a cleric on the street, he told me his name, Ushakaf...as well something I couldn't understand/ decipher.

Their temples were exclusively constructed inside large rocks spread across the drylands. They were quite simply, hollow caves with distinct pillars, inside there was usually a small altar which they gathered around and would throw offerings into.

The most important part of the cycle though was them showing me a glimpse of their holy scripture. It was a semi-large scroll which was central to their faith.

With this, I could finally learn their alphabet and hopefully better communicate with them. I took a picture which scared the surrounding clerics and they quickly told me to leave the temple while shouting "Skybeing, Skybeing!"

The artisan from previously came to pick me up and I left the site as quick as possible.
