My female alexandrine (22 yrs) has been holding her poop for several hours every day for a month. Today she held her poop all day until 4:30 pm! She's never laid eggs and is a single bird. I checked if there seems to be an egg but her underbelly seems soft; I don't feel like there's an egg in there but I could be wrong. She does have to strain a bit when she unloads her now-huge poops but it doesn't seem to be a LOT of strain.

I've been in contact with her vet who told me to keep monitoring her in case she's getting ready to lay an egg. I wanted to ask if anyone here has had any similar experiences with poop-holders?

She's had recurring liver hepatomegaly over the past few years and is on a milk thistle and dandelion root supplement (from Morning Bird) daily.
