Since this group is also for minimalist running, I’m wondering which Vibram Fivefingers (or alternatives) marathon runners recommend. If you’ve run a half or whole marathon, please chime in.

I’ve worn some really old school vibrams, the sprint model from 2008, on numerous runs, 5k, 10k races, etc. They were my favorites. Since the wore out eventually, I now have V Alpha, which are fine for running until debris gets in them because the heel doesn’t cinch. With either model, it’s always been better on trails than pavement.

For my first marathon, I’m considering getting the V Run model. Who has marathon experience with these? Any other recommendations? I’ve tried vivibarefoot and am not a fan at all.
