Need advice asap
I requested to do a sit for 7 nights for 3 dogs. One is blind/ deaf and needs 5 eye medications a day and has a possible brain tumor. I did a meet and greet last week for 2 hours which was very comprehensive and involved me walking the dogs with the owner. I checked in about the booking and they said they were interviewing others and would let me know. They called me a couple days later and said they would like to book with me because they think I’ll “take the job seriously.” They messaged me on the app afterward and said Rover was being “funky” because it was charging per dog and asked if I could provide care for $120/night. I respectfully responded that that is standard practice for Rover and I can give a small discount (it was originally $253/night and I reduced it to $240). They asked me to do a 30drop in yesterday to do a trial run of feeding and medication administration. No problem. I was there for 2 hours because they also wanted me to walk the dogs separately and they also created a 12 page document of information for caretaking and wanted me to read over it and ask questions. They also gave a communication expectation log and asked me to communicate with them after every walk (5 walks/ day x 3 dogs. Each need walked separately). At this point I’m really regretting taking this booking. I just got a call that the elderly dog had a seizure and they’re taking her to urgent care now. They asked that I not leave their house AT ALL to keep a 24/7 watch on the dog. I said I have a few bookings during the week to which their response was, “I didn’t realize you were taking other bookings during this”, asked for all the times, and then asked if I could cancel one of them because it conflicts with the dogs dinner time. I want to pull out of this but they leave at 4am tomorrow and it’s 8:45pm, so knowing they won’t find coverage before then I’m at a loss for what I can do. I asked to keep me updated on the vet visit and I haven’t heard anything yet.
