Is it even possible to do effective event follow up? My company is a SaaS company that sells into the healthcare industry and we attend trade shows throughout the year. As a BDR I attend a few shows and do the follow up for all of them. At the shows we have our booth, folks stop by and we talk, they seem interested, we scan their badges which gives us their info and of course some are just being polite but a few do seem genuinely interested.
The problem is that it is impossible to get in touch with anyone afterwards. Not just that we email or call and they respond saying they changed their mind but just that it is not possible to get in touch with them. It seems that they all just put a junk email address in their badges, and the phone number is either blank or a number straight to their hospital, and its impossible to get to them. The BDR team is starting to feel some pressure bc the last few shows we literally haven't converted anything from the leads that come in. No matter how much we call or email or message on LI, there is just no response at all. At my last show, I tried asking for a good phone number, but even that isn't playing out the way I had hoped.
Does anyone have any tips or strategies for actually generating meetings from trade shows? At this point I want to tell people to just book a 15 minute meeting on my calendar with them right there at the show for the following week because as soon as they walk away from our booth they might as well just vanish from existence.
