Dog Mountain - conflicting info on permits
TLDR; seeking clarity on using shuttle to hike Dog Mountain on Sunday without getting a vehicle permit. Is there any fee if I take the shuttle from Stevenson?

I tried to get a vehicle permit for a day this weekend at Dog Mountain, but despite clicking reserve at 7:00 am sharp, it timed out three times on me and all permits were gone within about 45 seconds.
I see the CAT shuttle option, but I see conflicting info on WTA site and other sources regarding permits and costs. One place it will say that hiking and parking/vehicle permits are different, others will say the shuttle is free and provides you with a free hiking permit along with no parking cost.
So which is it? If I grab the shuttle in Stevenson is the hike going to be free?
Sorry for the noob question. Relatively new to the area and am solo hiking this season so figuring it all out on my own. Grateful for the intel from this group!
