I’m going to be blunt.

I’m from a country where corruption is common, so I’m naturally skeptical of anything that looks even slightly “off.” I’ve been looking into joining Freemasonry, but the lodge I found doesn’t seem to have any clear recognition from bodies like the United Grand Lodge of England or other well-known regular jurisdictions.

That raises a red flag for me.

So I want to ask directly:

* If a lodge isn’t recognized by major Grand Lodges, is that basically a dealbreaker?

* What are the concrete ways to verify legitimacy (not vague answers, actual checks)?

* Are there common signs that a lodge is irregular, fake, or just using the name?

I’m not interested in politics, money games, or anything shady I’m only interested if it’s real Freemasonry.

Would appreciate straight answers.
