Quick question, at work today (arborist) I was pruning a Japanese maple and there were three saplings rooting around the mother tree. The customer told me I could have them, so I dug them up. They didn’t have very big root as they were only about 4 inches tall. But they did have a fair amount of roots. I put them in the truck for about 3 hours and the leaves are all super crunchy. I have them in water now. I guess my question is, can I keep growing them in water? Or should I just plant them in soil? Or will they even survive? Thanks!
