I got into umich as a transfer student majoring in computer engineering (I'll be a second year when the fall '26 semester starts), and I am considering adding on a math degree.
The relevant credit I have at this point is:
- math 115/116
- math 215
- eecs 183
- physics 140/141
- departmental credit from the linear algebra class I'm taking right now
I was wondering if I'm considered behind for the path I'm considering, especially because it's looking like I'm going to have to take physics 240/241 in winter '27 (every discussion is waitlisted lmao) and because I'm planning on taking math 217 in fall '26 when I already fulfilled that computer engineering requirement with math 215 (if I don't end up doing the dual degree).
I'd like to note that if I do end up committing to the math degree, I want to do the CE control systems and mathematical sciences control systems concentrations as I am genuinely interested in control systems and because of the course overlap.
Please let me know if you think this is a feasible path, thank you so much!
