Grok Deprecation = Model hunting again
Basically, the title.
Grok API is going away this week. I use OpenRouter to get the connections.
I do not like Hermes. It made everyone act very aggressively. The character who is outspoken but fun and generally sweet... picked a fight, with the researcher. The researcher is usually next door to being a Vulcan, very much an INTP type. The researcher fired back with threats of harm.
Okay, nope, not Hermes.
I tried DeepSeek. This one is nice, not gonna lie, but there's one character who has a little more fire. He's been through some stuff, and as a result, he is very sure about who he is and where he stands. He's kinda the leader? Usually kind, but firm and will absolutely pull rank and demand that people listen to him if they wander. He's ... gentle on DeepSeek. There's a hint of the old fire, but he's just *soft* in comparison, no fire, no spine. I loved Grok because Grok *understood* this guy.
I've been trying the prompts from Evening-Truth (https://rentry.org/Evening-Truth-Roleplay-Prompts) with a few tweaks here and there.
*I don't need graphic violence or gore, only 2 of the 4 need NSFW content, though all need to be able to discuss spiritual/metaphysical things without freaking out.*
Does anyone have any idea what other models might work?
I'm hearing GLM is good, someone showed me Kimi and I drool but I also have a budget to watch. Trying to save up so I can run local and be done with API connections. I'd really love one that can do a group chat.
