Incisional hernia after lap!

I’m pretty sure that I have an incisional hernia from my laparoscopy. I’m in with my surgeon tomorrow to double check. However. He has already stated that even if it is a hernia, it’s unlikely he will perform surgery to repair. Instead he has advised me that for the foreseeable future I just don’t lift anything heavier than milk and I’ll be fine.

I’m a strength trainer lifting weights every day. I haven’t lifted a single one since surgery but my surgeon has “hinted” that I won’t be doing any lifting ever again.

This cannot be right can it? To be told they won’t repair and I have to change my entire life and career due to a hernia? Oh and don’t pick up your 5 year old kid!

Has anyone else experienced this or should I get myself a new consultant?!
