Starting at 236lbs - 5'3

Struggles: overweight, inflammation, hirsutism, high androgens, prediabetes, fatigue, insomnia, depression, anxiety, and acne.

This "ex-spear-a-mint" is to see the effects of a new workout routine and taking a daily 1,000mg of spearmint leaf powder on my menstrual cycle, general health, and weight.

Notes on the last few times I had a successful period. There were only 3 instances in the past like 7 years.

Seems to be tied to stress relief.

1) Like 5 years ago. I was cycling a lot on a sunny day after enjoying some turkey and broccoli. Most importantly, I finally booked that surgery appointment I was so stressed about and it was a weight off my shoulders.

2) Last January. I finally left an 8 year long abusive relationship. I ended up getting into a much healthier loving relationship.

3) This past January. I stopped caring about eating healthy and went to get myself a big bowl of gas station Mac n cheese. I went outside and played in the snow and laughed. It was fun! I felt carefree.

Diet: Fiber and Protein focused low to moderate calorie balanced diet including staples such as lentils/legumes, fish, eggs, cruciferous veggies, complex and low gi carbohydrates. Calories ranging from 1,400-1,800 calories. Still consuming some dairy. Low gluten. Hydrating very well.

Taking daily: myo&d-chiro inositol with d3, Alpha-lactalbumin, and chromium (ovasitol plus), frequent creatine, cutting energy drinks back to only using V8 powder packet (blueberry pomegranate!), and magnesium glycinate. Considering starting a probiotic supplement.

Workout: Committing to minimum 4 days a week of slow weighted workouts, steady cardio, and flexibility work. Along with PT exercises for past shoulder injuries. Walking after meals. Considering starting somatic exercises.

Mental health: In therapy. On Lexapro and Hydroxizine. Doing EMDR. Practicing stress reduction techniques. I go outside often, and talk to at least one person every day as far as socializing goes.

I'd love to hear your thoughts, advice, and experiences!
