What is the core difference between Hindu meditation and Buddhist meditation

I have been interested in meditation for a long time, and I have practiced many different approaches to it. I must admit that it took many years and missteps to understand what meditation really is, let alone the core ideas of Buddhism. I approached meditation only for scientific purposes (enhancing my attention, gaining more control over my impulses, self-observation, psychological exploration, etc) and I was always skeptical of it as a form of mystical relief.

I think the Buddhist diagnosis of the world as suffering (not constant pain, but a constant sense of struggle and non-attainment) is very accurate. However, its solution feels somewhat life-denying (in a Nietzschean sense). The Buddhist ideal of a person completely detached from the world and absorbed in inner peace does not really attract me. I meditate to live my life fully not to detach from it. On the other hand, the Hindu concept of meditation seems more cheerful, less dull, and very different from buddhism.

So my question is: is Hindu meditation actually different? Sadly, I have very little knowledge about Hinduism, but I am interested in learning more. Instead of asking these questions to ChatGPT (Im kind of addicted to it !) I decide to ask real human beings, because I feel a need for human interaction. Thank you for your time!
