Hi all,
l've decided to start conducting research on how driver development teams communicate with people who are trying to break into racing from different backgrounds specifically in the formula ladder and junior categories like F4, FR Americas, USF, Mazda Cup, TCR, etc.
The reason I'm asking is because as an aspiring driver myself who has contacted teams before it gets very confusing. It usually follows the pattern of I'd send a message or call asking about programs, costs, the pathway and usually receive a 1 sided answer almost like they are unsure how to answer. I then had to piece everything together myself when it came to steps moving forward.
I want to know if this is just my experience or if it's a universal thing. Did the team actually explain the pathway or did you get a vague no answer?
Did slow or poor communication ever push you away from a team you were genuinely interested in?
What would have made the experience better? All the best. All responses are helpful, thanks. (This is a repost)
