'Nasty As Can Be': Brian Baldinger Lists Gennings Dunker As His Favorite 2026 Third-Round Pick

'Nasty As Can Be': Brian Baldinger Lists Gennings Dunker As His Favorite 2026 Third-Round Pick

Baldy's take on one of the best stories from the r/NFL_Draft r/NFLv2

I think we need to start collecting 'mullet humor' and we'll send to Baldy to see what he likes.

I heard this one the other day and just laughed:

"I haven't seen a mullet move that fast since there was a 2 for 1 on Schafer 12-packs at Circle K in 1986".

Giants RT Jermaine Eluemunor after Big Blue added Francis Mauigoa: 'Our offensive line can be a top-10 line'

More Trench-News.

NYG O-Line were solid last year on the ground, rather lacking in the Passing Game and QB Protection. r/NYGiants . We had the NYG O-Line at 17th in league based on TPR, the D-Line was well down the list in 28th.

Will be interesting to see what new coach has in store and can't wait to see the fireworks in the NFC East. r/Dallas_Cowboys added a ton to the D-side of their team in Free Agency and Draft, this is going to be good.

In AFC East, Job Number 1 is stopping the run.

AFC East is the division that throws the ball the least and the top 2 teams run it the most.

Explains the NYJ approach to r/NFL_Draft and Free Agency. Focus on Trenches, D-Line and build out from there.

Now for Draft Grades. Browns, Raiders, Boys on top, JAX, LAR and 9ers Get Low Marks.

We're working on combining this with Free Agency to get a sense of what teams have added in order to address key needs and we'll share that out soon too.

So weird to see the Jets near the top of any 'positive football list'! Good for them.

2026 NFL Draft by Position: The Trenches Were High on the Board.

Here's where we netted out for the r/NFL_Draft by position - reflecting Team Needs as they see them.

WR was the number one position at 36 and there was a combined 46 Safeties and CB's chosen to keep them from getting the rock.

The Big Fellas #InTheTrenches worked out to just about equal with 50 on the O-Line going against 53 on the D-Line though the 24 LB's drives the D selections up a bit more.

18 of the 1st Round Picks were for a Trencher on either side of the line.

A QB Named Armstrong? A RB Named Fastermen? These are Legit Trencher Names.

There have been some great Trench-names over the years and the rookies for next season will add some to the mix as well.

So many Big Fellas drafted and we'll breakdown the X's and O's later but just wanted to highlight some of the more fitting Trench monikers.

The Big Fellas went and went and went.

5 of the top 10.

Most teams addressed 'clear' needs: Dallas went D. NE went QB protection. NYJ and NYG went for both sides of the ball.

Some 'reaches' but no grades I'm seeing under a C.

You liking your team's picks?

The role these guys play is key.

As we get to later rounds, team picks will likely to shift to more skillers.

These guys in the trenches, and depth on the Lines, really make a difference for either rebuilding or putting the final touches in place.

On draft day, the Trenchers get their due, and then we all go back to fantasy rosters!!

Let's go BIg Fellas!!

When we did 2025/26 Team Reviews looking at things from the Trenches, there were a few Divisions that seemed 'gettable' by just about any team in the grouping.

Fox has all 4 teams either as playoff contenders or Super Bowl.

The r/eagles are the best D-Line of the 4 and the r/cowboys are the stand-out O-Line for sure. WAS and NYG have got to be able to stop the run as this is the issue for both of their D-Lines.

That said, no team has a lock on this the way some other divisions seem to.

Which teams make the post-season this year?

r/NYGiants get in?

u/Even-Implement-8211 — 22 days ago

We dug into the TrenchPowerRating numbers from last season as a way to find out each team's 'Trench Needs'.

The Raiders have gaps on both sides of scrimmage, the NYJ need to shore up a passing game and run D-Line. The Bengals, even with their trade, need to dial up their D-Line vs the run for sure.

The G-men need to be able to stop the run game with a stronger D-Line.

The LARams are the first 'good' team to pick in this draft and they are in a great position to add top shelf talent to a loaded team.

Curious if the Silver and Black pass on QB at 1 and address Trench needs.

D-Lines took such a leap forward last year. They developed new schemes and personnel packages and there were several dominant units, not just one or two stand outs.

DEN is league best at Sacks and Forcing Teams off the Field (forced most Punts).

SEA (The Dark Sid) doesn't let you get much down field. #1 in both fewest Yards per Carry and Yards per Attempt. #3 in total Rush yards and haven't had an individual RB go for over 100 in a game since the season before last (10/2024).

The HOU D-Line turns you over, gets a ton of 3 & Outs holds teams under 60% PassComp.

Down on the list: the DAL D-Line is 'decent' in Sacking the QB but gives up quite a bit all other ways: Yards per Carry/PassAtt, total Pass and Run Yards, doesn't force 3 & Outs nor many Punts so teams can sustain drives.

The Seahawk, Jaguars, Patriots and Rams are the most balanced teams, D-Line and O-Line, in the top 10.

9ers, Panthers and Bears made the post-season with D-Lines in the bottom half of the league.

The Raiders look to address both sides of the ball, so do the Jets with an emphasis on developing a passing game. Arizona needs to get a run game going.

TEN should focus on QB protection and develop a ground game.

CLE just needs 'capable' O-Line play and productivity to compliment that amazing D-Line they have.

We'll post the rest of the 1st round picks shortly.

NFC teams lead in the top O-Line units and we'll share out the D-Lines soon (AFC dominates there).

Rams were really good in the Passing Game (#1 PassYds), avoiding 3 & Outs and Sacks (T1 for both), and moved the sticks well for 1st downs via both pass and run game (2nd and 6th). Their biggest 'issue' was converting on 3rd Downs where they were all the way down to 23rd in the league when they face a yes or no to keep a drive going.

r/Dallas_Cowboys were a very close #2. They were solid all year.

Curious to see which O-Line makes the biggest gains from last year to the new season. TEN, LV, Vikes?
