Hi everyone,
I've been looking into what the policies of the new local councilor candidates in my area are and I can't find anything meaningful..
All that you can find is their mugshot, a plain statement (like "I love dogs" or "homelessness bad..") and a prior job title (not even description of education or what they're good at)
This seems ridiculous as we're supposedly electing these people to support us.
Additionally, there's been no noticeable community engagement in the run-up to the election (we didn't even get flyers)
How do I select someone purely on their "good intentions" or "vibes" without even seeing a single thing they will work on or policies they have.
Also, how the hell is it possible that there isn't a good comparison website of policies across candidates (I've looked through both govt managed and private websites to cross check potential policies)
This system of choosing someone on little-to-no information seems incredibly irresponsible and even dangerous
(Sorry for rant)
