(DISCLAIMER FOR THE SUBREDDIT FILTERS: I am not a breeder. I do not condone unprofessional breeding. I bought a mouse, thought she was fat. She wasnt. I now have babies. DO NOT BREED MICE UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING)

(Photo is all 7 babies about a week ago for mouse tax.)

Ahem, excuse that.

So, alas, it is soon time to wean the baby boys. I just had a few questions!

The babies are approximately 20 days old, fully active and nibbling on food. My questions are more related to the boys, as I am keeping all three girls.

I have read that male mice dont reach sexual maturity until 4-6 weeks old, and it is best to seperate from mama and sisters at 4ish weeks to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

I was just wondering, its only been 3 weeks but some of the boys are starting to get pushy and a bit agressive. Not a ton, but the girls have started running away and squeaking, and their brothers chase them around. I havent noticed any attempts at mounting or anything, but its been making me a bit worried.

I already have a temp tank set up for the boys once they hit that 4 week mark, so I can make sure they are eating and drinking properly on their own before I bring them back to the pet store.

I just wanted to know if I should seperate them now, seeing how they've started to chase around and bother their sisters, or if I should leave them another week? Their exact 4week mark is the tenth.

Sorry if any of this was dumb or common sense, these are my first mice and first mouse babies so.. I don't know a ton about mice lol.

Thanks for any help!!!!

(Cute picture of baby Eridian, to not blast the timeline with mouse bits.) (Disclaimer for the subs filter: I AM NOT A BREEDER AND DO NOT SUPPORT UNETHICAL BREEDING. I GOT A FAT MOUSE FROM THE PET STORE AND SHE HAD BABIES. DO NOT BREED YOUR MICE UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.)

Operas litter are officially 16 days old, and looking every bit as healthy and chipper as they should! Now.. for the dreaded question.

Balls..

Or no balls🥳

I already have my guesses, but I thought I would come to you lovely folk to double check!!

I believe the first four are male, and the last 3 are female.

When they were slightly less fluffy, the last three had visible nipples, so thats what I am basing the sexing off of.

Agree? Disagree? Please help. I am so horribly emotionally attached to all of them but I can only keep girls.
