2014 Toyota Tacoma, ~185,000 miles, I4 engine, 4WD
KBB Value: ~7,500$

Had a CEL for a cylinder 1 misfire. Assumed it was a bad ignition coil but unfortunately the dealership found coolant in cylinder 1 and provided video.

They recommend replacing the engine. Quoting ~9,000$ (everything including tax). Independent shop quoting about as much.

Both quotes were for a used engine. I assume I should go with remanufactured if an extra ~1,000$ or less.

Should I replace the engine? The rest of the truck is in good shape (ttbomk). I just want to make the most economical choice, I can spend ~20k on a new sedan if need be
