Throwback Thursday and I want to honour the old Masonville Mall. Do you think it is a lot better back then than now? does anyone remember the Clock Tower near Coles book store by the food court area? Remember the water fountain years ago that is around the middle of the hallway of the mall where the Aritzia is located on the bottem floor? I remember the popular mini golf use to be there years ago. I remember a long time ago. my sister bought me a black leather jacket at Danier’s and that is the best moment shopping at that store. I remember Green Earth a long time ago where the Chatime is now located. They have cool displays of insects and other cool stuff there. I remember Bulk Barn use to be where Walking In The Cloud is located and now they move across the street beside Winners and near the Mufflerman mechanic shop. What do you missed the most back then at Masonville Mall? I remember those human flying figures at Silver City Cineplex use to move back years. They are still there to this day. I remember the Zellers, and it took up two floors where HomeSense-Marshall’s (bottom floor) and Rec Room (top floor) is now located that is previously been Target. I remember buying my Top Gun t-shirt from Target a long time ago. I believe the longest tenant at Masonville Mall has been Cole’s book store, and most of the fast food chains like Koya, ManchuWok and New York Fries. I remember there use to be a variety store beside the New York Fries, and another variety store where it is now Green Windows. If you want to share your memories of Masonville Mall. Feel free to comment. Thanks

I have gone to the Rec Room at Masonville Mall for many years. I do enjoyed going there. However, I notice they jacked up their gaming credits while they still keep their prices the same. Example: The soccer game is usual 6 credits and now it is either 10 or 12 credits per play. Halo Fireteam Raven is 12 gaming credits before it was 6 gaming credits. I was out with my nephew and brother. My nephew wants to play some arcades at the Rec Room. My brother said “Save your money, use your money elsewhere”. I made this post to be aware Rec Room is giving their consumers the short end of the stick. $10.00 is the cheapest gaming credits and you only get 40. It will run out in a few minutes of game play. It is totally not worth the price. My brother said to my nephew. “Play with your Nintendo Switch at home to save money or save up to buy a new video-game at Best Buy.“ My brother has GTA V for the PS5 at home, and he should be smart with his money to play your games at home than paying overprice just for a few games at Rec Room. Besides the arcades, I had their Monster Mango Loco for $6.00, and their Sol beer for $9.00. It is still expensive charging premium price. It is not affordable price I am paying, and this is not cheap compare buying Monster Energy from Wal-Mart or Dollarama including alcohol from the LCBO. I once paid for the smallest Kim Crawford wine from New Zealand at the Rec Room, and it is near $20.00. In this economy, I would not recommend Rec Room to spend any money unless it is on special occasion. Instead of playing Halo Fireteam Raven there. I would rather save up and pre-order Halo Campaign Evolved. The food at the Rec Room is okay. In reality, you will be spending from $50.00 to over $100.00. I am making this post and called them out. Rec Room is own by Cineplex. You are paying their prices and it is not cheap. You want a Coors Light. That would be $8.00. Mini donuts are $10.00 for almost a dozen. I understand the marked up it to make profit and cover operation cost. The only thing is the rip off is raising their gaming credits hence you are getting less value what you are paying for. Rec Room can afford to pay rent at Masonville Mall, but felt like they are robbing us giving us less in return to be their loyal customer since they open after they took over the former Target on Masonville Mall’s top floor.
