About a year ago I gave a local off-road shop that specializes in GM 15k to redo the suspension on my ‘16 Denali 1500. $500 of that went to magneride delete. Fast forward to a few days ago and the truck started throwing “service suspension” errors. I check my rear suspension, and my ride-height sensors r still installed, but hanging underneath the truck, and the sensor arms r screwed into holes that were drilled into the mounting brackets. Furthermore, they’re hanging because nothing was done to secure them into their mounting holes in the frame (normally I think this is done under tension when the sensors are attached to the magneride struts).
Every kit I’ve seen for the magneride especially around $500 has connectors that manage the sensors and removes the stock sensors etc. Also, I think the unit itself installs as a connector just behind the OBD so I should see that as well correct? My concern, is that the guy rigged the sensors to not throw errors and pocketed the $500 for the magneride.
Normally I wouldn’t have an issue with calling someone out, however, the guy is a friend of friends and does work for my Dad and brother as well.
I just want to make sure I’m not missing something before I hit the guy up and call him out since it’s a touchy situation.
Photos show the ride height sensors and the arms screwed into holes that were drilled out along with the holes in the frame they were left just sitting in.
