Advice on senior care

UPDATE: vet visit today - did a senior bloodwork panel, results on Monday. X-ray today showed enlarged spleen and small spot on lung that “may or may not be something”. We are going to wait to see what bloodwork shows but vet is recommending ultrasound of spleen next week and is fairly certain it will show a mass on spleen :(

My guy is 13.5 Years old and he is starting to slow down, showing a bit of his age. But as you know GSP’s sometimes don’t know when to stop! He’s definitely got some arthritis, especially in his hips and back legs, slower to get up and falling a bit when trying to change positions. He’s on carprofen and Dasuquin Senior supplements. My real concern is over the last few weeks he’s really pulling away and isolating himself from the family - totally out of character for my Velcro dog. Won’t lay on the bed with me, spends most of the day and evening in other rooms away from whoever is home. He’s eating/drinking ok and will still come running if you say “walk”. Any experience with a senior dog showing isolating behavior?
