Hello-
Looking for advice and input. I’m deciding if I want to pursue an architecture masters program and career pivot.
Background: BFA in graphic design, handful of years of experience as a designer in advertising.
Why I’m interested: “Architect” was always my answer when being asked what I wanted to be when I was a kid. I’m interested in doing work that has a real world impact - hopefully a positive one. The dream is doing work that’s innovative, design focused, and environmentally sustainable (I know, I know).
I’m open to eventually working at either a large corporate firm or a smaller boutique firm. Not so concerned about long hours and the general grind.
Questions:
- What does the field look like currently?
- Is AI making your jobs better or worse?
- How long until you were doing the work you really wanted to be?
- Would you choose architecture again?
Thank you
