Renaissance wax and sheathe question

Hello, first time sword owner here! I have a carbon steel sword and I'm interested in keeping it in good shape. I've cleaned the blade with alcohol and applied a temporary baby oiler layer while I wait for renaissance wax to arrive tomorrow (I accidentally rubbed off the oil it came in, dumb I know).

I'll be applying the wax when it arrives and I wondered if it would be okay to store my sword in its leather sheath, provided it's coated in the wax? I'm going to clean out the inside of the sheath with compressed air to try and make it as clean as possible!

I'm hoping to get a stand or somewhere to mount it as I understand leather sheathes trap moisture, but until then the sheath is my best bet it seems.

Who knew swords required so much maintenance!

Thanks, and all the best
