For an espalier! What would you put here?

When I first moved here, I imagined a fan espaliered stone fruit tree. But then I had some fruit growers caution me about growing fruit right up against my house. It would probably be a welcome signal for pests…

So now, I still want a statement wall. It’s south facing. Full sun all day long, zone 8B.

Is star jasmine the move? I’d prefer some color. Any suggestions?
