Hi, I'm a grad student in Biology and have been doing a lot of microbiology work using a bunsen flame (dual culture assays). With the number of cultures I have, I do spend a lot of time in front of it and have been getting mild reactions akin to toasted skin syndrome.
Does anyone have any tips on how to protect myself before, while, and after having to sit in front of a bunsen flame for a prolonged period of time? Since my lab is a little under-resourced, I don't have access to a biosafety cabinet so that is unfortunately not an option. Any leads are greatly appreciated!
