I’m a continuous contract elementary teacher in Alberta with 10+ years of experience. I’m certified in BC (TQS Category 5).

I’m considering moving to Vancouver and working as a TTOC instead of taking a contract.

My question: how does Vancouver School Board place experienced out-of-province teachers on the grid?

Would my 10+ years be recognized (Cat 5, Step ~10), or would I start at Step 1?

If you’ve moved from Alberta (or another province) to VSB, what step did they place you at?
