To start, last year I landed a 10 week internship in Irvine and I will be flying out in less than a month. I have never been to California and I am from all the way across the country, so as a college student this is a huge move for me and I am looking to see new things and experience new places while I am there. My housing/car is already taken care of, so luckily I won’t have to worry about paying those outrageous prices for each. I am also living with someone who is somewhat familiar with the area so I will be relying on them somewhat when it comes to this.
That being said, I am looking for any advice on what to do in my situation? What is it like living in OC and what are the do’s and dont’s? Any amazing things to do in southern Cal? (I’ve been looking at doing potential day trips in the city as well as spending time in San Diego/LV). Also, what are some places to avoid and can be potentially dangerous? Beaches? Sporting events? Culture? Food? Any general tips? I want to know everything. Thank you for your reading and all advice is appreciated.
