Hey everyone,

Looking for some outside opinions before pulling the trigger.

I’m turning 30 this year, which also marks 8 years of running my own business and I wanted to mark it with something meaningful. JLC has always been “the” brand for me, I grew up close to the manufacture and heard about it constantly as a kid, so there’s a real sentimental pull here.

This will be my first “real” watch.

Quick context on me: I dress casual basically 24/7, short sleeves all year, never a shirt or suit. So I need something I can live with on a leather strap with a t-shirt.

Originally I had my heart set on the Master Ultra Thin Moon, but when I walked into the boutique they had me try on the Master Control Calendar and… instant coup de cœur. Then, while researching, I stumbled on the grained dial edition and visually it floored me, though I haven’t been able to try that one on yet.

One concern: I have small wrists, 14–15 cm. 40 mm is on the edge of what works for me, but honestly nothing smaller in the JLC range really speaks to me.

Price isn’t really the point here (within reason of course 😅). I just want to pick the one I’ll still love in 20 years.

So: classic silver sunburst (left) or grained dial (right)? Curious what you’d go for and why.

Thanks 🙏
