As the title shows, I can’t make up my mind. I’m torn between selling my gaming laptop and getting either rog ally x, or something else equivalent. For backstory I currently have a pretty decent gaming laptop, 4070, 4tb ssd, 4k, that I enjoy but I really don’t use as much as I should. I really only touch it when my friends and I play helldivers 2 or marvel rivals, I play everything else on my Xbox. I’ve been gaming on pcs for probably about 5 years now, but as I get older I seem to just want things simpler and simpler. I travel for work and truthfully I haven’t even plugged my laptop in for a couple of months now even though I’ve had it and it’s been available. The simplicity of the ole Xbox, 2 cables and a controller/headset has really just been nice and keeping me away from the pc. I’ve been falling out of love with updates and drivers and really the benefits of running 4k at 120+fps has been meaning less to me. I guess what I’m asking, are rog ally x simpler than a full laptop. Can I plug them into a monitor and maybe run helldivers okay enough to get by just to have it still as an option. Are portable gaming handhelds good enough to compete with a laptop without needing a stand, mousepad, mouse, microphone, things to equal carrying a dedicated backpack for it. Any help and opinions would be great, maybe those who did it before. Pros cons etc.
