I found the book when I was in middle school (I was in 6th grade in 2010 for reference), and just read the description on it and didn't skim through it at all, but the setup stuck out to me quite a bit. I don't know what edition it was, but I remember the cover having an elephant facing the viewer on it with a natural environment behind it that may have been on fire.
