When we had our first kid, we decided not to have a baby shower and instead chose to distribute gift boxes to friends and families. Honestly, we won't have done it either if not for our parents being the old generation they are with their "face" honour to uphold. It was really costly at a time where we were struggling to save.
Fast forward a few years and we got a second child and lo and behold the same predicament is looming at the corner. With inflation the gifting seems to cost more for less, and at the back of my head all I want is go give to my closest friends over families, just because I have a better bond with them over my relatives whom I meet as often as a AGM/EGM goes.
Just wonder how like-minded parents feel and what did you do?
