Looking for advice on fixing this RCA CMR300 camcorder if that's possible. I work on game consoles so I'm not entirely a stranger to working on electronics, but VHS camcorders are a different beast. The camera itself actually turns on and electronically works fine, it's just when there's a tape inserted you run into problems. To me, it sounds like a gear is seizing midway during rotation. My original thought was the belt near the top left is just old and stretched, which still may be causing problems, but it looks like it has full rotation fine so my next suspension is one of the bigger gears inside might have a crack which is preventing it from working properly. But, as I have no experience working on these looking for advice. Thanks in advance!
