So I am pregnant and luckily survived my first trimester without even having any morning sickness or nausea. But now I’m nearing the end of my second trimester and starting to get very anxious for birth. I know a lot of people throw up during labor and am absolutely terrified it will happen to me. I really wanted to try for a natural birth but I’m nervous the pain will be too intense and make me sick. I’m also nervous the epidural will make me sick. Basically I just don’t want to get sick. Is there anyway this can be avoided? I’m seeing that it happens to 5 to 8 out of 10 people which is a terrifying statistic for an emetophobe 🙃

Part of me feels like I won’t even care because I’ll finally be so close to meeting the baby we tried so hard for, for seven years, and that the pain itself will be distracting from the fact that I’m being sick. I guess I could use some positive birth stories and some encouragement.
