I’m having issues with my headlights and tail lights, which keep flashing every time I start my car.

I drive a doge ram 1500, year 2011, and I was away for deployment and left with my truck sitting for a year on base, battery disconnected.

I connected the battery back on, and now when the truck starts the lights flashing for at least a good minute. Eventually they stop and it’s fine, but the check engine light remains on.

Th flashing lights also happen after I park the car and open the door when I exit. After about a minute the flashing stops and lights turn off.
