I'm looking for a few rods as a gift for myself with my tax returns.

I'm looking at Amazon and possible gear since I'm new to fishing. I just discovered KastKings and its pretty gear.

Would a collapsible/folding rod be something worth getting?

what gear should I strive for? I've got $300 as my total budget. I like the idea of using worms or basic bait.
