Chap and his brother ate these in Australia and felt crook and foggy and diarrhoea shortly afterwards - took themselves to hospital. Supposedly specialist says Cortinarius spp, and monitoring for kidney function.

Though here might have a more specific ID? Can't figure the State from their posts. Pretty sure Victoria.

stupid guys, I wonder how f*cked they truly are 😓

This is my oldest cac at about 4 or 5 years from a chonky cutting I damaged.

It's currently just just of 7ft tall and is becoming unstable in the pot. My partner tried moving it away from the handrail and it tipped over landed heavy but seemingly undamaged.

It's currently lightly resting on the wall as its stability these last few inches has become questionable.

How would I even begin to repot this?! It's so heavy with 4"+ spines, but I don't want it to suffer in its constricted pot. I'd love to move it into the ground but we get extreme wet and humid summers in the hinterland and I worry it would drown.

Should I attempt to repot it into something bigger?

Or chop the pups? Or try planting it in relative dry cover somehow?

Was thinking of using a multi tool to trim off the bottom of the pot and drop it in a hole then cut off the sides once in place ..

Really at a loss what to do with it. It's already up under the eves making it a pain to move. It's a bit sentimental as it was my first Peru!

Any advice appreciated.
