Hey r/graphic_design,

I’ve recently gotten really interested in designing pictograms but I’m struggling to find solid resources on how to actually get started. Most of what I come across is either very surface-level inspiration or just showcases of finished work without much explanation of the process behind it .

I’m especially interested in understanding things like:

- How to think in simplified visual systems
- Grid usage and proportions
-Consistency across a pictogram set
-Any theory or methodology behind effective pictogram design

Do you know any good books, courses, articles or even designers or studios that break this down in a practical way?

I’d really appreciate any direction since I feel a bit stuck trying to piece this together on my own.

Thanks in advance!

Any update so far for players who really want to play the game on Mac? I used GeForce Now but it runs on low res and I also have to pay nvidia to continue playing it there.
