Finally moved to Riga as a student, here's what I learned about housing
I spent way too long researching places before my exchange semester here. Thought I'd share what I found since I was pretty lost at first.
Riga Student House kept coming up but they were full when I looked. Ended up checking out a few others like Collocation Riga and some Facebook groups. Also toured Fuse Stays near the center, they do flexible contracts which was useful since I wasn't sure if I'd stay the full semester. Decided against Beta Apartments because the location felt too far from everything.
What actually helped me decide was visiting the neighborhoods first. Old Town area is convenient but loud on weekends. I know people at Guesthouse Astra who like it, and someone I met uses Riga Accommodation for a regular flat share.
Biggest tip, start looking early and don't just trust photos. The transit here is good so being slightly outside center isn't bad. Also, a lot of landlords want deposits upfront which caught me off guard.
Anyone else here on exchange or just moved? What did you end up choosing?
