Need help choosing FPV controllers

Hey everyone,

I’ve got a decent amount of experience flying DJI drones (Mini 3, Mavic Pro, etc.) with well over 200 hours in the air. I’m very comfortable with smooth cinematic flying and basic maneuvers, but I’ve never flown true FPV freestyle or cinewhoop-style quads.
I’m looking for my first FPV radio/controller and want something that checks these boxes:
• User-friendly / beginner-friendly for someone transitioning from DJI-style flying
• Works great with PC simulators (like VelociDrone, Liftoff, Uncrashed, etc.) so I can practice a ton before flying real hardware
• Will eventually work seamlessly with FPV goggles and a real FPV drone (I plan to get into cinewhoops/freestyle later)
Budget-wise I’m flexible if the controller is worth it, but I don’t want to overpay for features I won’t use right away.
What would you recommend? Specific models, why you like them, and any tips for a DJI pilot making the jump would be super helpful!
Thanks in advance!
